Goatskin is durable and supple and is used for gloves that require dexterity and sensitivity. Goatskin is only available in relatively thin cuts. Comparing different leathers in a given thickness (or pound to pound), goatskin is the strongest. High lanolin content makes the leather soft. Thinner cuts of goatskin are used for TIG welding, drivers, and mechanics gloves where dexterity is important, while heavyweight goatskin is also used for premium MIG gloves.
